What is BCcampus?

BCcampus is a publicly funded organization that uses information technology to connect the expertise, programs, and resources of all B.C. post-secondary institutions under a collaborative service delivery framework. We provide valued services to institutions, ensuring B.C. learners, educators, and administrators get the best, most effective technologies and services for their learning and teaching needs.  We provide an ICT infrastructure for student data exchange, shared services, online learning and distance education, communities of practice and online resources for educators.

Read our Strategic Plan.

How does BCcampus work?

With our partners, we identify, acquire, develop and implement innovative technologies and services that facilitate system-wide connection points for student services and provide collaborative educational models for faculty and instructors. As a business-to-business organization our commitment is to our stakeholders, the post-secondary institutions, working closely with them as partners in this process to define and then deliver the best educational technology and distance learning services possible.

How are we funded?

BCcampus receives its annual operating funds from the government of British Columbia, Ministry of Advanced Education.

What is our governance structure?

BCcampus is advised by a Strategic Council comprised of decision-makers in the post-secondary system and the Ministry of Advanced Education. We are separate from government, operating on an annual funding letter from the province that spells out its expectations for us, based on the directions identified by the Council.
